NEW UTILITY RATES EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2010
On June 22, 2010, the American Fork City Council approved several necessary rate changes.
One of the most significant rate changes is the sewer rate, which has been increased because
Timpanogos Special Service Direct (TSSD), the City’s contract provider, increased its fees by
27%. This fee increase affects every city in the District (i.e. Eagle Mountain, Pleasant Grove,
Lehi, Lindon, etc. ).
The CUP Water rate has increased to help fund American Fork City’s portion of the Provo
Reservoir Canal Enclosure Project. A trail system is being built over the enclosed canal
corridor. The Provo Reservoir Canal Enclosure Project will benefit the environment, public
recreation and the water users.
Lastly, the drain fee has increased in order to generate the necessary capital improvement
funds to fulfill requirements under the State of Utah Storm Water Regulations and Federal Clean
Water Act. One requirement that the City is working to meet is with regard to building a salt
dome facility to house the City’s salt supply.
The new utility rate increases are as follows:
SEWER RATE
Old Rate:
$24.50 up to 3,000 gallons, $1.10 per 1,000 gallon over 3,000 gallons
New Rate:
$35.55 Base Rate, $1.40 per 1,000 gallons
CUP WATER
Old Rate:
$5.00
New Rate:
$6.50

Please note that the new increases went into effect July 1, 2010 and will
be reflected on your monthly utility bill that is received in August 2010.
