DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT:

American Fork Fire/Rescue Department will provide the highest level of emergency services that our resources will allow to the citizens of our community. We are committed to excellence in the delivery of these services through goals such as:

  • Support and serve community through public education
  • Ongoing training to improve individules safety and skills
  • Continue improving our methods by implementing new technology and procuring enhanced equipment.
  • Encourage all to create "UNITY".

American Fork Fire/Rescue over the past several years has become a combination department which consists of full-time, part-time, and volunteer staff.  The department runs three full time crews which consists of one captain and one full-time firefighter/emt.  Two paramedics are staffed 24/7 to provide the city with the highest level of care possible. 

Fire Truck Bids

The City of American Fork Fire/Rescue is requesting proposals/bids for the following items:

1. Class A Fire Engine

2. Loose Fire Equipment

Proposal/Bid Packets may be picked up August 9, 2011 after  12:00 Noon at:

American Fork Fire/Rescue
96 North Center
American Fork, Utah 84003

Proposals/Bids may also be mailed to prospective vendors.

To receive a mailed Proposal/Bid Packet contact American Fork Fire/Rescue at 801-763-3040.  Ask to talk to Josette or the Duty Captain.  Packages will be mailed 2-day priority.  Requests can also be made via email to kgarcia@afcity.net.

Bids must be submitted by September 9, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the above listed address.

STORM ALERT - Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Please be aware that the weather service has issued a severe weather alert for the state of Utah for November 23 to November 24.  The warning has asked that the public try to remain in their homes as much as possible.  If traveling is necessary, please plan ahead for major weather delays and use extreme caution. 

 
Prenventing Fires During Winter - Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Free Smoke Detectors - Thursday, October 21, 2010

A major component of Fire Prevention Week is ensuring that every home in the community has fire prevention technology inside the home.  As a part of this program, the fire department will provide a free smoke detector to those citizens who do not have one and have a financial need.  Please visit us during regular working hours to pick one up for your family.

The Fire Department's annual fireman's breakfast for Memorial Day is quickly approaching.  We would love to see our citizens come out and participate with us on this special occasion.  Please look to your left (the center part of this website) for more specific details of this event.  Hope to see the community there!

 
Fireman's Memorial Day Breakfast - Sunday, April 25, 2010

We are excited to announce that on the morning of Memorial Day, we will be having our annual Fireman's Breakfast.  Come enjoy breakfast served to you by our local firefighters!  More information to come this month. 

 
Burn Season - Tuesday, March 09, 2010

The burn season for 2010 is quickly approaching.  The burn period for this year will be March 15th through April 12th.  The fire department will be issuing burn permits during normal business hours.  Contact the station if you have any questions.

 
CPR Training Update - Friday, January 29, 2010

Just a reminder that American Fork Fire/Rescue offers CPR and First-Aid courses to the community.  These courses are available to anyone, including youth groups, and health care professionals needing to recertify.  A date for these courses will be announced on a monthly basis.  All of this information can be viewed on the link to the left of this website labeled "CPR/First-aid".  Please use the contact information on that link if you have any questions or special requests.  Thank you for your interest.

Firefighters across the nation would like to bring to your attention the dangers of the upcoming holiday.  Thanksgiving is the day where most home cooking fires take place.  The National Fire Protection Association advocates cooks stand by the stove as they cook and to be aware of what is cooking at all times. Fire Danger - Saturday, August 22, 2009
