Utility Rates
Utility Bills are due by the 20th of each month
Utility Bills are due by the 20th of each month. Any utility account not paid in full by the 20th will receive a late fee of 10% of the current month's charges. A copy of the ordinance is available at the administrative offices, 51 E Main. Water meters are read in March, June, August, and October. Please make sure you are adjusting your payments to cover the cost of the meter readings in these months.
Garbage Pickup
Garbage pickup for American Fork is on Thursday. The following is a list of holidays that will effect garbage pickup. The week of these holidays, pickup will be delayed one day and will be picked up on Friday. If the holiday falls on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday pickup will be on Thursday as regularly scheduled.

Guidelines to ensure consistent service:
- All trash/recycle containers must be placed outside by the curb by 7:00 AM.
- Place the container near the curb with the wheels against the curb or within two feet of the blacktop, and the front of the container facing the street.
- Containers must be placed four feet apart from other containers and eight feet from mailboxes, poles, fences, trees, or parked vehicles for easy access.
If you have followed the guidelines for pick-up and the can was not emptied, you must call Republic Services (801-785-5935) by 3:00 PM the day following your regular pick-up day, we will not be able to return until the next scheduled pick-up day. Other options will be provided (extra bags for the next pick-up day, etc.)
**Recycle containers should not be used for trash. Recycle containers that have trash in them will NOT be dumped as trash. The City will be notified of any recycle containers that are not dumped because they are filled with trash.
Military Waiver of Utility fees
American Fork City is once again offering the Military Waiver of Utility fees for those with immediate family members who reside in the home on Active Duty. Contact City Administration at 763-3000 ext. 0 for more information.
