Police Chief: Lance M. Call Phone: 763-3020 Emergency: 911
News The American Fork Police Department will be hosting a free Bicycle Safety Fair on Saturday, May 3, 2008. The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and will be held in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 949 Grasslands Drive. The fair is co-sponsored by the American Fork Police Department and the American Fork Wal-Mart store. The Bike Fair, which is geared for the youth of American Fork, will include a bicycle rodeo (riding skills course for the youth), riding demonstration by the American Fork Police Bicycle Team, bike helmet give-away (100 youth helmets donated by Wal-Mart), and the give-away of two brand new bicycles donated by Wal-Mart. Other demonstrations will include the AFPD SWAT and K9 Teams. The Rotary Club will also be present doing Amber Alert Identity Packets for all interested parents.
In addition to the riding course and demonstrations, participants will be able to obtain city registration tags for their bicycles at no cost. The registration tags are a great deterrent to bicycle theft and greatly aid in bicycle owner identification and recovery.
This event is geared for all levels of riders and should be worthwhile for any bicycle enthusiasts who want to sharpen their riding skills and bicycle knowledge. We hope to see you there! For additional information please contact Lt. Sam Liddiard at 763-3020.
