Volunteer to help in American Fork City

American Fork City Volunteer Week Special Events

“In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it.” – Marianne Williamson

The theme for Volunteer Week is “Challenge”. One challenge is to see if the community can reach 50,000 hours of volunteer service by April 8, 2011, which is a small feat for a community with a population nearing 30,000.   If each resident did one or two hours of service before April 8, 2011, the goal could easily be reached. Volunteer hours can be submitted online, the American Fork Library, American Fork Fitness Center, and American Fork City Administrative Offices.   Get involved and report your volunteer service hours!

Another challenge is the Laps vs. Pages Challenge between the American Fork City Fitness Center and the American Fork Library. Make sure you head to the AF Library to check out books and go to the AF Fitness Center to run/swim/walk laps between     March 28 - April 2, 2011.    The Library and the Fitness Center will then tally their numbers to see which Department has the highest number.   The Department with the highest number will then receive the proceeds earned from the 5K Run/Walk.
